WALK-IN CLIMATE CHAMBERS

The walk-in climatic chambers of the  Disgelo Pharma & Cosmetics line are designed for pharmaceutical stability studies requiring large storage volumes and extremely stable environmental conditions over time.

These solutions are designed and manufactured in France by Caelis and distributed in Italy by Il Disgelo, which provides installation, commissioning, qualification and technical support throughout the Italian market.

Walk-in chambers are designed for continuous operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, ensuring stable environmental parameters throughout the entire duration of stability studies.

Walk-in climatic chambers can be designed according to the required capacity and laboratory layout.

Typical configurations range from several tens up to more than 80 m³ of useful volume, allowing storage of large quantities of pharmaceutical products and stability samples.

Humidity is generated by an ultrasonic humidification system, while dehumidification is achieved through the refrigeration circuit.

The chambers are designed to operate according to the main environmental conditions defined by international stability testing guidelines:

  • 25 °C / 60 % RH
  • 30 °C / 65 % RH
  • 30 °C / 75 % RH
  • 40 °C / 75 % RH

Other climatic conditions can be configured upon request.

Structural design

The walk-in chambers are constructed using high-performance insulated panels, ensuring thermal stability and structural rigidity.

Main features include:

  • insulated sandwich panels, thickness 60 mm
  • fire reaction class B s2 d0 (M1)
  • internal and external smooth sheet metal finish RAL 9010
  • insulated floor with load capacity up to 3000 kg/m² distributed
  • hinged door with four-seal system
  • door clear opening 2000 × 900 mm
  • integrated anti-condensation heating cable
  • panic bar and internal safety release system

The floor design allows the use of shelving systems and high storage loads.

Air treatment system

Air distribution is designed to ensure uniform temperature and humidity conditions throughout the useful volume.

The system includes:

  • dedicated Air Handling Unit (AHU)
  • heating system
  • dehumidification system
  • ultrasonic humidification
  • forced ventilation

Air is distributed through a textile duct installed on the ceiling, ensuring homogeneous airflow distribution.

Control system

The chambers are equipped with a 7” touchscreen interface specifically designed for pharmaceutical stability applications.

Main functions include:

  • temperature and humidity setpoint adjustment
  • continuous display of measured values
  • monitoring band management
  • alarm and event recording
  • user management with multiple access levels
  • up to 100 configurable users

Data can be exported via USB port for traceability and analysis.

Safety systems

The chambers include several safety devices designed to protect both the product and the operator:

  • independent safety thermostat
  • audible and visual alarm system
  • dry contacts for external monitoring systems
  • emergency stop button
  • internal emergency lighting
  • internal alarm push button for operator safety
