The CHD Series freeze-thaw test chambers are systems designed to perform accelerated durability testing on building materials and components exposed to weathering, reproducing repeated freezing and thawing cycles under controlled laboratory conditions.
Materials such as ceramics, stone, bricks and concrete are continuously exposed to rain, humidity, frost, wind and temperature variations. During day/night cycles, moisture absorption followed by freezing can cause progressive degradation, cracking and loss of material performance.
CHD chambers make it possible to precisely control the thermal conditions of the test, allowing sample behaviour to be evaluated in advance and supporting development, qualification, validation and quality-control activities.
The configurations are intended for research laboratories, building-material manufacturers, testing centres and certification bodies and can be used for testing according to standards such as UNE-EN ISO 10545, UNE 67048 and UNE 22174, depending on the applicable test procedure.
They are designed to provide:
- controlled freeze-thaw cycling;
- accelerated simulation of climatic stresses;
- precise and stable temperature control;
- high temperature uniformity inside the test chamber;
- temperature monitoring through high-precision probes;
- configurations dedicated to different sample sizes and types;
- continuous operation for durability testing;
- possibility of integrating water spray and water-conditioning systems;
- support for material qualification and validation activities.
