Italian A Second Life for Existing Chambers, Including Other Brands
Many pharmaceutical and cosmetic laboratories still operate walk-in climatic chambers that are 15 or 20 years old. Panels, insulation and structure are often still in excellent condition, while refrigeration, controls, electrical components and humidification become obsolete and spare parts are increasingly hard to find.
Before replacing the chamber, we assess whether the existing structure can be kept and whether it is enough to modernise its technical core. We also work on chambers from other manufacturers, starting with a technical assessment and renewing only what is needed.
The service is developed with Caelis, the French specialist in climatic chambers for stability studies, and is handled in Italy by Il Disgelo for site survey, installation, requalification and support.
The retrofit covers:
- Refrigeration: variable-speed inverter compressors and new-generation refrigerants, so cooling capacity matches the thermal load and consumption drops;
- Control and regulation: a new PLC with touch panel, connection to plant supervision systems, remote alarms and full traceability of climatic data;
- Air treatment and humidity: replacement of heating and humidification systems and optimised air distribution, restoring the climatic homogeneity required by ICH guidelines;
- Electrical cabinet and safety systems: a complete rebuild with modern industrial components, for reliable 24/7 operation.
