Installation of 4 DOT TCEM Climate Chambers – Stellantis, Poissy (France)


At the Stellantis plant in Poissy, four DOT TCEM climate chambers were installed, designed to test electric drive systems under extreme conditions from –40 °C to +90 °C, with a temperature change rate of 4 °C/min, making them ideal for high-precision automotive validation.


The TCEM series is engineered for endurance and functional testing on complete electric traction motors with transmission and cooling systems, offering full access to the test area and fast setup, surpassing limitations of conventional chambers.


Each unit consists of two shell sections: one fixed on seismic mass, and one movable, operated via trolley or vertical lifting. This configuration simplifies motor installation, while dedicated side sealing systems enable shaft exits and connection to external dynamometers, accurately simulating real load conditions.


Once closed, operators can carry out quick inspections through an integrated access door. Tight sealing between shells is ensured by heated silicone gaskets, with closure via manual clamps or pneumatic actuators.


All TCEM chambers meet SIL2 safety requirements, preventing entry during active testing, and include configurable cable passthroughs, dedicated fluid connections, and optional glycol detection sensors and automatic inerting systems.


The dual-stage refrigeration unit, sized to customer specifications, is supplied in remote configuration together with the electrical cabinet to maximize floor space. The control system interfaces natively with cell supervision via Modbus TCP/IP.

Temperature: –40 °C / +80 °C (extendable to +120 °C)
Dew point: 2–60 °C
Humidity: 20–95%
