The DOT Compressed Air Chillers by Il Disgelo are industrial systems designed for the controlled cooling of compressed air used in localised thermal treatments, industrial processes, test benches and low- or ultra-low-temperature applications.
The system uses previously dried compressed air and cools it before delivering it directly to the component or to the specific area involved in the process, providing a cold, clean and dry cooling medium.
This technology is particularly suitable for applications where the use of liquid heat-transfer fluids at very low temperatures is complex or undesirable. The use of compressed air avoids direct contact between the component and oils or other liquid fluids, reducing the risk of contamination and simplifying system management.
The range includes different configurations developed to meet varying requirements in terms of temperature, air flow rate and cooling capacity, with solutions capable of treating up to 700 l/min and reaching air temperatures down to approximately −85 °C.
Are designed to ensure:
- controlled generation of low- and ultra-low-temperature compressed air;
- direct delivery of cold air to the point of application;
- use of dry air to limit condensation and ice formation;
- high process cleanliness without contamination from liquid fluids;
- localised thermal treatment of components and devices;
- stable and repeatable operation;
- integration with test benches, automated systems and industrial equipment;
- reduced management, recovery and disposal of heat-transfer fluids;
- monitoring and control of the main operating parameters;
- system configuration according to the specific requirements of the application.
These systems are particularly suitable for automotive, e-mobility, aerospace, electronics, industrial components, R&D laboratories, test benches and validation processes.
The configurable design allows each system to be developed according to the required air temperature, flow rate, inlet-air dew point, operating pressure, cooling capacity and the specific characteristics of the process or component being treated.
