Series Tcem Back-to-Back 1.2 m³ ACU SYSTEM
The DOT TCEM | Back-to-Back 2 × 1.2 m³ ACU System represents a specialised climatic solution within the TCEM range, designed to perform thermal and climatic testing on Back-to-Back e-Motor configurations, in which two electric motors are tested simultaneously inside two separate climatic chambers connected to the same dynamometer system.
The solution consists of two independent climatic chambers and a separate external ACU conditioning unit. The ACU incorporates two independent air-treatment systems, one dedicated to each chamber, allowing the climatic conditions inside the two test compartments to be controlled separately.
The chambers are connected to the ACU through flexible, insulated supply and return air ducts. This architecture allows the system layout to be adapted to the test-bench configuration, the position of the dynamometers and the available laboratory space.
The chambers feature a high-rigidity structure divided into removable and connectable sections, designed to simplify electric-motor installation, access to the units under test and configuration and maintenance activities.
Dedicated interfaces enable the integration of drive shafts, cooling circuits, wiring, sensors, data-acquisition systems and auxiliary equipment, while maintaining highly uniform airflow distribution within both test compartments.
It is designed to ensure:
- simultaneous testing of two electric motors in a Back-to-Back configuration;
- direct integration with dynamometers, load systems and external test benches;
- independent control of the climatic conditions inside the two test compartments;
- coordinated control of temperature and humidity;
- execution of functional tests, durability cycles and validation programmes;
- management of the thermal loads generated by the systems under test;
- high stability and uniformity of climatic conditions;
- precision and repeatability of test results over time;
- flexible configuration of the chambers and ACU conditioning unit;
- facilitated access through removable chamber sections;
- integration of shafts, wiring, piping and service circuits;
- connection to external data-acquisition, supervision and control systems;
- independent management of the test parameters for each chamber;
- configuration of specific devices, interlocks and safety systems.
It is particularly suitable for laboratories, testing centres and research and development departments operating in the automotive, electric mobility, motorsport and industrial powertrain sectors.
The customised design allows the two chambers, the related ACU System and the connection interfaces to be configured according to the characteristics of the electric motors under test, the generated thermal loads, the Back-to-Back layout, the dynamometer test-bench configuration and the specific constraints of the installation area.
