Il Disgelo developed for CAELIS a 408 L DOT DRACARYS climatic chamber designed for thermal-climatic testing over a wide temperature range, from −70 °C to +180 °C, with relative humidity control from 20% to 98% RH.

The configuration uses an R449A/R472B cascade refrigeration system, enabling very low temperatures while maintaining stable and continuous operation throughout the test cycles.

Developed Solution

The DRACARYS features a monoblock construction with an AISI 304 stainless-steel test chamber, 100 mm thermal insulation and an integrated air-treatment system.

The system is designed to provide:

  • −70 °C to +180 °C temperature range;
  • 20–98% RH relative humidity;
  • heating rate up to 3.5 °C/min;
  • cooling rate up to 3 °C/min;
  • R449A/R472B cascade refrigeration;
  • temperature uniformity ≤ 1.5 °C;
  • front door with heated inspection window;
  • two Ø100 mm technical feedthroughs;
  • two adjustable internal shelves;
  • test parameter recording;
  • control and supervision through CliMaLogic®;
  • Ethernet, VNC Viewer and Modbus TCP/IP.
