Special Copper Lines for a −40 °C Ultra-Low-Temperature Circuit
ㅤㅤ
Il Disgelo designed and built, for Automobili Lamborghini at its Sant’Agata Bolognese plant, the refrigeration piping of an ultra-low-temperature CO₂ (R744) circuit, connecting a 90 kW booster refrigeration unit rated at −40 °C with the gas cooler and desuperheater installed on the roof.
ㅤ
Developed Solution
- 4 refrigeration lines in Cu Alloy K65 special copper, suitable for pressures up to 120 bar, with certified and traceable materials;
- high-silver brazing under nitrogen flow, performed by qualified personnel;
- seismic bracing calculated to the Italian NTC 2018 code, with ballasted supports on the roof so the waterproof membrane is never drilled;
- pressure, leak and vacuum tests, PED compliance management and CO₂ charge;
- on-site assistance at the first start-up of the refrigeration unit.
Main Technical Data
- refrigerant: CO₂ (R744);
- refrigeration unit capacity: 90 kW at −40 °C;
- piping: Cu Alloy K65 special copper (EN 12735);
- operating pressure: up to 120 bar;
- refrigeration lines: 4, with diameters from Ø 1"1/8 to Ø 1"5/8;
- compliance: PED Directive 2014/68/EU.
