Extreme Thermal Testing from −70°C to +180°C at the Livorno Plant
Il Disgelo designed and built for Magna Closures S.p.A., at its Livorno production plant, a 1,000-litre DOT DRACARYS CZ-UHA-1000G climatic chamber for the environmental qualification testing of the automotive components it manufactures.
The system operates over a temperature range of −70°C to +180°C with relative humidity from 20% to 98% RH, ensuring stable, repeatable climatic conditions for testing.
Developed Solution
The configuration provides:
- a monobloc structure with an AISI 304 stainless steel interior and 100 mm polyurethane insulation;
- 4-stage cascade cooling with Bitzer compressors, using low-GWP R449A and R472B refrigerants;
- humidification via an electric steam generator and dehumidification via a tube coil;
- a reinforced floor (100 kg) and two adjustable shelves (50 kg each);
- control and supervision via CliMaLogic®, with Industry 4.0 connectivity;
- sound-shielded compressors and an internal sound-absorbing lining.
