DRACARYS EUCAR 6, Walk-In and Fluid Thermoregulation

Il Disgelo developed for CNR STEMS Naples a platform consisting of a 2000 L DOT DRACARYS climatic chamber in EUCAR 6 configuration, a custom Walk-In climatic system and a dual-circuit thermoregulation skid for managing fluids used with HEB and HPB modules.

Developed Solution

The DRACARYS operates from −35 °C to +180 °C, with temperature change rates up to 3.5 °C/min, humidity control and dedicated safety systems for battery testing up to EUCAR 6 configuration.

The skid manages two independent circuits:

  • Castrol BOT 2100 oil for the HEB module;
  • water/glycol mixture up to 50% for the HPB module.

Each circuit integrates cooling, heating, variable-speed pumping and control of temperature and flow rate toward the DUT.

The project also includes a Walk-In climatic system operating from −20 °C to +40 °C, with humidity control and supervision through CliMaLogic®.

Result

The project enables CNR STEMS to manage both environmental conditions and process-fluid thermoregulation in an integrated way, creating a flexible platform for research activities on batteries, energy-storage systems and sustainable-mobility technologies.
